Training
Every operation begins with readiness, and our Training Department is the backbone of APS field effectiveness. We set a hard line for minimum standards: each officer completes at least 40 hours of hands-on tactical instruction before deployment—including scenario-based drills, medical emergencies, conflict de-escalation, and procedures for high-stress incidents. Ongoing quarterly training keeps the team combat-ready and sharp.
Overview
APS Training is engineered for field readiness, not just compliance. Our curriculum is scenario-driven, designed around operational realities our teams face on patrol, during incidents, and at high-risk posts.
Tactical Foundations
Every new officer completes at least 40 hours of intensive, hands-on instruction before their first shift. This includes threat identification, force escalation protocols, risk assessment, rapid medical response, and live-action drills like building entry, perimeter security, and access point control. Instructors with law enforcement, military, and emergency backgrounds run modules that stress decisiveness, discipline, and control in unpredictable environments.
Operational Drills & Skillsets
Training moves past theory into roleplay and live simulation—officers rehearse de-escalation, tactical team communication, evidence handling, and after-action reporting with real-world constraints. Modules cover crowd control, lone-worker safety, scene management, and legal considerations so guards are prepared for anything from medical emergencies to high-threat incidents.
Continuous Readiness
APS enforces a quarterly training cycle with skill refreshers, incident reviews, and field drills. Deficiencies lead to targeted remediation, and surprise scenario exercises keep teams sharp. Specialized tracks allow staff to upskill in areas like surveillance, defensive tactics, and inter-agency coordination.
Why It Matters
Rigorous, tactical training ensures APS personnel can rapidly assess, respond, and restore control when conditions are at their worst. Every officer is expected to meet operational standards and is resourced to adapt on the ground—transforming training into the core of our mission effectiveness.
